HUSBAND AND WIFE TO BE SENTENCED AFTER INSTALLING ILLEGAL STREAMING SERVICES
A man made £475,000 installing illegal TV streaming services that offered customers Sky Sports and BT Sports coverage.
Cormac McGuckin, 38, from Bellaghy has pleaded guilty to ten offences linked to his criminality between January 2016 and June 2020.
The father of four children, also pleaded guilty, along with his wife Maura McGuckin, 34, to converting criminal property of £45,135 for car payments and converting criminal property of £26,669 for holidays. His wife pleaded guilty to an additional charge of possessing criminal property.
The couple appeared in court on Friday 20th September as a prosecution barrister outlined their criminality, citing the total amount involved in the scam was £737,000.
The couple will be sentenced next month.
