POLICE VISIT HOMES ACROSS THE UK TO ISSUE WARNINGS TO SUBSCRIBERS OF ILLEGAL SPORTS STREAMING SERVICES

The UK's Federation Against Copyright Theft (FACT) and police are urging individuals to cease illegal streaming activities due to potential criminal prosecution and other risks.

Over 1,000 people have already been identified in raids on an illegal streaming service based in the UK. Users of such services face serious legal consequences, with two people sentenced to 16 months in prison in 2021. Additional risks of illegal streaming include supporting criminal organizations, susceptibility to fraud, scams, viruses, and malware.

Research indicates that following an analysis of 50 popular illegal streaming sites, all were found to contain malicious content, and over 40% lacked a security certificate.
